[Seoul] Remicone 레미콘

Remicone specializes in ice cream treat, most well known for inventing the thunder cloud soft serve. Located in the neighborhood of Sinsadong, it is a popular place for social media fans to visit. I've been eyeing this place for awhile, and a hot summers day is the perfect time to go for ice cream!

Decor

With the exterior of an adorable white ice cream truck, Remicone won't be easy to miss.

The inside of the store boasts more of a clean retro atmosphere with neon Led lights, metal stools.

Under the counter are several models of their menu items. Useful when deciding on what to order.

Food

The menu is written in English and Korean, so it is easy to navigate through the different types of soft serve creations they do.

You can mix your own by choosing the base and topping, or order from the special menu selections.

We chose from the special menu since that is what we came for.

썬더밤 Thunder Bomb

- milk soft serve, cotton thunder, popping sugar

The main reason for their popularity is this item, the thunder bomb. there are actually many versions of this cloud dessert, but we decided on the original thunder cloud. To perfectly imitate a thunder cloud, the cotton candy is mixed with bits of popping candy for that shock factor.

As a first time customer this would be something I recommend. You get the best of both worlds, a delicious vanilla base soft serve, and a unique instagram worthy cloud ice cream!

서핑무드 Surfing Mood

This is a new menu item for the summer season. "Surfing Mood" is made with a blue soda base and white vanilla slush to on top. The colour perfectly sums up the summer ocean waters. Tastes as refreshing as it looks.

초콕콕 Chocokcok

- chocolate soft serve, hazelnut crumble, cacao nib

The chocokcok is basically what you call a chocolate explosion lol. Great for chocoholics, but in my opinion it was average, just chocolate soft serve and some toppings.

커스텀메뉴 Custom Menu 1

- milk soft serve, mango syrup, mangcaron

At Remicone, you can customize your order according to your preference. This was a pre-made custom menu item we chose from the selections in the glass case. This one is catered to mango lovers, mango syrup, and mango macarons. A bit to sweet on the syrup, but just to my taste.

Verdict

Apart from the selection of cloud themed items, I think Remicone is average, good ice cream, lots of choices. For photo opts, this is a great place to visit.

Would I go again? Yes if I'm nearby on a hot summer's day.
