Decor
Like most restaurants in the area, there are four floors to this okonomiyaki shop, but even so, we had to wait awhile before a table was given to us.
This was the counter seats on the first floor, but other than here, all the seats are basically private teppan tables.
The downside to this is not being able to have your okonomiyaki's cook in front of you, which was a big minus for me because I was really looking forward to that aspect. :(
Apart from that the place was spacious, and had good ventilation systems, a great plus for teppan styled restaurants.
Food
The variety on the menu was pretty wide, from appetizers to desserts, but since we were here for the okonomiyakis, that is what we mainly ordered.

ちぼーサラダ Chibo Salad
Just a regular salad, we thought some veggies was needed since we haven't been eating very healthy on our trip to Japan. The salad was very fresh and refreshing in contrast to the oily fried foods, it was a good change.
チーズとんぺい焼 Cheese Tonpeiyaki
Although the Tonpeiyaki looks similar to a tamagoyaki, the taste is entire different. The egg is more soft and fluffy, more similar to an omelette, with a filling of pork slices, cheese, and topped with some green onions and sauce.
This was delicious and devoured by us in minutes haha.
道頓堀焼き Dotonboriyaki
Ranked most popular okonomiyaki offered here, so of course we had to order. It includes pork, squid, shrimps, beef tendons, and cheese. Then topped with a generous amount of okonomiyaki sauce, mayo, seaweed powder, and bonito flakes.
The bonito flakes and seaweed powder are served in a container on the table, so you could add the amount you please according to your preferences. I'm not sure if this was the case in all okonomiyaki shops but I really like having this option available.
ミックスモダン焼 Mix Modanyaki
Modanyaki is made of noodles instead of a flour batter like the original okonomiyaki. Other than the noodle, it also contains pork, squid, shrimps, dried shrimp flakes. I can't really tell you which one tastes better since they are both really tasty, but imo, I prefer the original okonomiyaki than this one.
I like my noodles as noodles lol...
Nevertheless, I recommend trying out both dishes, it never hurts to try something new right?
Verdict
Chibo is definitely a great choice for okonomiyaki when visiting Osaka. The only downside is not being able to see the performance of making the pancake or even the opportunity to try cooking the dish myself. Otherwise, the food is great, and the environment is great!
