Pablo is home of the amazing drool-worthy cheese tarts in Osaka /and you will see why :) . It has been famous for quite a while now, with shops at numerous locations, as well as overseas!
The store we visited is the one in Dotonbori. It is a two story building, built with a takeout counter on the ground floor, and a cafe on the second floor.
One thing I would like to say before we start is how cute and funny? it was when a customer enters the cafe. All the staff would sing a short tune to greet you.
"Welcome to Pab-lo~" ♪
I wish I could just sing it to you hahah.
Decor
Starting with the decor, everything is pretty self explanatory, there is no way you can miss the giant Pablo sign and its light-up cheese tart model right above it, and cows surrounding it LOL.
By the staircase leading to the second floor are these adorable hanging cheese tart lights.
This is the cafe area, a very warm and tropical setting.
It was spacious and can contain large parties, which is great for families and tourists.
And here is the cheese tart model we saw earlier outside the shop.
It was much bigger than I thought it would be seen from the inside!
Too bad we didn't have a seat near it, or there would be quite a lot of selfies taken haha..
Food
Like many restaurants/cafes in Japan, it is common to see limited time/location items on their menus.
Pablo as well has many selections that are only available at exclusive locations and seasons.
The seasonal cheese tart that was available at the time we visited was the pear cheese tart. It was a collaboration with the character Funassyi (ふなっしー), they only had it available for takeout so we didn't get to try it.
But, there was another limited item, only available at the Dotonbori location, the takoyaki cheese tart!
I have been looking forward to this since we planned the trip.
Like what does that even taste like? sweet? savoury?
Drinks
First off, let's start with the beverages.
たっぷり果実のピーチフルーテ Peach Frutte
This is a summer limited drink. A very peach flavour packed milkshake.
Light and not too creamy.

Food
Other than cheese tarts, there are also cookies, ice treats, and savoury items on the menu as well. But since we came especially for the famous tarts, that was what we focused on. Though the honey cheese toast looks extremely appetizing..
*All the cheese tarts available in the cafe are mini sizes. The ones sold for takeout are larger in size.
マンゴー×ココナツ Mango Coconut Cheese Tart
- Paired with fresh whipped cream and coconut sorbet.
If you've been reading my blog, you know I love to try new things. :)
Thus, anything limited time will catch my eye.
This, of course, is another seasonal item, the mango cheese tart!
There are mango cubes apparent in the cheese tart itself
paired with a bite of refreshing coconut sorbet, makes eating such a rich dessert not a heavy on the stomach.
Look at the inside!!
In contrast to normal cheesecakes, the cheese tart is more gooey?
Creamy, soft, a slight molten texture, and melts in your mouth. mmm doesn't that sound amazing.
白玉×抹茶×小豆 Matcha Red Bean Cheese Tart
- paired with kuromitsu (black sugar syrup) and vanilla ice cream
The perfect Japanese style set.
Matcha, red bean, mochi, and kuromitsu, what more could one ask for?
...sprinkling tiny bits of gold foil on top.
need I say more?

たこ焼き Takoyaki Cheese Tart
Finally, the one we've all been waiting for (mainly just me lol)
Takoyaki, one of the specialties of Osaka has found its way onto a cheese tart.
So, you might think what would that taste like?!
Actually the whole thing is sweet.
The takoyakis are actually cream puffs, the takoyaki sauce is chocolate sauce, the mayo is mascarpone cheese, the green nori flakes are matcha powder, and the katsuo fish flakes are crunchy pie crust!
This is only available at the Dotonbori location, so definitely come and try it for yourself!
Aren't the takoyakis adorable?
マンゴチーズタルトかき氷 Mango Cheese Tart Shaved Ice
Last but not least we ordered a shaved ice, because really three cheese tarts is enough for even five of us.
It was so thoughtful, the shaved ice came with a small cup of hojicha to help cleanse your palette after eating such a sweet dessert.
We knew it would be quite a large portion, but wow, we were still surprised at its size when the waitress gave it to us.
It's almost the size of our heads!...
We had a bit of a brain freeze trying to finish this one :L
Verdict
Yes! this is definitely a place to try out if you ever visit around the area.
If you don't have much time to dine in, I would suggest buying one for takeout. For takeout only, there is an option of choosing the molten level? of your cheese tart.
Even if you are not a fan of the soft versions, there are solid ones available as well!
If I had a chance to go back, I would try out their cheese ice cream, I heard its sweet and salty at the same time? hmm.
