LA Trip 2015 Day 2

Day 2

2015/12/13

Morning!

Its the first full day exploring the city of angels. So excited! haha.

First Stop: Larchmont Bungalow

Larchmont Bungalow

Lovely place in the Larchmont neighborhood, the Larchmont Bungalow. We came here for the insta-worthy red and blue velvet pancakes, just the name itself sounds absolutely divine ♥. The interior gives off a warm and welcoming atmosphere for anyone who enters. Pretty packed considering it was not lunch time yet, we sat at the patio in the back, under the Californian sunshine.

The pancakes looked dense, but they were fluffy and not too sweet. Filled and topped with cream cheese frosting and frosted walnuts paired this dish perfectly. Along with the pancakes, we also ordered a lobster cobb salad. This as well was amazing. Unlike some other places, the lobster would be nowhere to be found after a light toss. This bowl packed with healthy ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. It might look like too much for the two of us, but once we started eating, there was no stopping, and without knowing it, we devoured the whole bowl. I highly reccommend this for people looking for a healthier option to eat along with their pancakes!

very content with my brunch lol

Second Stop: LACMA (Los Angeles Couty Museum of Art)

Of course, for the people who love taking pictures, we could not miss our destination at LACMA. The famous urban lights situated here is a great example of modern art. A sunny day, beautiful art, it was perfect. Candice even made a new best friend here LOL (inside joke).

On a side note: I noticed after staring at the palm trees for awhile that they are simply just pineapples on long sticks... Can you see the resemblence haha.

After our little encounter, we are ubering off to Santa Monica!

Third Stop: Santa Monica Pier

We didnt want to drive in the hefty traffic in LA, so we got around with public transportation. But bussing to Santa Monica for one and a half hour would waste our precious adventure time. Thus we decided to uber. This was our first time ubering, and omg I could not stop saying great things about it. Similar to taxis, the only different is uber has a self employ system. It is super convenient, the drivers were all super nice, saves a lot of time, and of course very affordable. This was a great option for those who don't want to rent a car.

Then after a brief half an hour to fourty-five minute drive, we arrived at Santa Monica Pier!!

Once again, it was a beautiful day, but wow even for the beach, I did not expect it to be THIS windy...

hair hair everywhere ;(

It was quite hilarious though, watching the seagulls fly in one direction but blown backwards when then try to soar through the sky lol.

Anywho, we took a little stroll around the Pacific Park. Too bad it was too windy to ride on the ferris wheel for a better view of the ocean, thus, picture taking time.

& we made it in time for the sunset. It was cold, windy, but the view was exquisite.

Fourth Stop: Third Street Promenade & around the area

After the sunset, we walked back up to the downtown area of Santa Monica, to the malls and Third Street Promenade. The streets were all busted out in christmas decorations, even the palm trees haha! How gorgeous are these?

Did some shopping, made some new friends (lol), it was time to leave for today's last destination :)

Last Stop: Far Bar

Initially, Far Bar was on our list because of their wonderful patio we saw over pinterest, but sadly they weren't open on our visit. Isn't it just stunning?

This place located in Little Tokyo was a little bit hard to find, the neon sign displays "Far East" instead of "Far Bar", would not be hard to miss if only we had known earlier. They offer Japanese cuisine with a western fusion twist.

After a long day exploring, we were too tired to even think, so we didn't bother to order any drinks. We had a little bit of everything, sliders, sushi, and of course, can't forget about the fries. Stuffed and satisfied, the two of us were ready to go home.
