Japan 2019 - Tokyo Arrival

2019/11/9 - 2019/11/10

Hello again I'm back!

This is my first time travelling internationally with my bestie :D

I know it seems like the only place I go is Japan but what can you say? One can never go wrong in Japan! Right?! LOL

Now it's three months later and I finally found motivation to sort out and edit all the photos I took from vacation...

We've literally started planning this trip a year in advance, after all the planning, confusion, excitement, it was finally time to gooo!

Here's my cute travel carry on bag... pretty much my expression boarding the plane HAHA

*

I always take JAL whenever I visit Japan or Taiwan. This time due to numerous reasons, we booked ANA instead!

Everything was great, I really cannot pick a favourite between these two...

BUT!

While browsing the drinks menu on flight I noticed this particular "drink".

I'm not sure if this is only available during the winter but omg it was so good, I pretty much ordered it with every meal...

ANA's corn soup

The texture is more similar to the Japanese styled corn soup, not the creamy Western version we usually find in restaurants.

It is quite thick, filled with corn pulp, and more on the sweet side!

Definitely try it if you ever see it on the menu! My friend and I kept raving about it throughout the entire flight LOL

For dinner I chose the beef bourguignon, and for dessert, vanilla ice cream!

& breakfast...

with the corn soup again hahah.

Maybe it was because I was travelling with a friend, time just flew by and before we realized, we've arrived in Japan.

Definitely the fastest flight I have ever taken!

We arrived at Haneda airport around 7pm and by the time we reached our hotel it was nearly 9pm. We had some trouble finding the location because of construction and the general confusion with exits at Tokyo station.

This time, I stayed at Karakusa Hotel Tokyo Station.

Super convenient location, literally less than 5 minutes away from the station!

There is an all you can drink fountain bar in the lobby of the hotel that is open until 12am every single day, but we never got a chance to go with all the vending machines nearby.

Our room was clean and bright, but sadly I have no pictures to show because I accidentally deleted photos of the first few days on my camera... 😭 😭 😭

Tokyo Station Ramen Street / Rokurinsha 六厘舎

After we settled in our hotel, we looked around for a place to have dinner.

Initially I wanted something easy and quick so we visited the ramen street underground at Tokyo station. Then we stumbled upon Rokurinsha, famous for their tsukemen.

We could not believe there was still a lineup at almost 10pm on a Sunday! (this definitely means it's good right?)

The wait wasn't bad though, only about 10mins before we got a seat.

The ordering system here is as usual, purchase tickets from the machine at the door, then give them to the staff when seated.

We weren't too hungry at this point so I ordered a simple regular tsukemen. There were plenty of noodles (always too much for me) and the sauce was thick and creamy. I really liked the flavour of the sauce, not too salty like the one I had a couple of years ago in Osaka.

The overall experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Would definitely come again!

Near our hotel are a couple of convenience stores just a couple minutes away. So we had to make a stop before we return to our room for the day.

Bought a couple of things from Family Mart...

Horoyoi

My favourite alcoholic drinks from Japan ♥♥♥

Grabbed all the limited/seasonal flavours I could find HAHA!

From left to right is winter orange, grape, and apricot.

Now it is time to get some beauty sleep so we have energy for a full day of shopping the next day!

See you soon ♪
