Japan 2019 - Tokyo Day 3

2019/11/13

Teamlab Borderless ➛ Hakone Yumoto

Today is our last day in Tokyo, we are visiting the famous Teamlab in Odaiba!

There are multiple Teamlab locations in Tokyo, we decided to visit Teamlab Borderless as it is the original exhibition. I heard about its popularity so we decided to get there early... or so we thought lol.

There was already a large crowd at the entrance waiting to go inside... I would definitely recommend going as early as possible!

Here are some of the beautiful rooms you can find inside Teamlab Borderless.

The ✿ flower room ✿ is probably my favourite ♥

Originally we thought spending half a day in Odaiba would give us enough time to go through the exhibit, but were we wrong. If you are planning to visit, make sure to have the whole day open, so you can get a chance to look through everything at a relaxing pace! There are also plenty of places to go to around Odaiba if you do end up finishing early!

We had to leave around noon as we needed to make our way down to Hakone Yumoto before dinner.

From Tokyo to Hakone, we took the express train 小田急ロマンスカー Odakyu Romance Car.

This train is reserved seat only, make sure to book your tickets early if you are visiting during high season.

The Romance Car has a special lunch box only sold on board, we were starving after running around all morning so we ordered some food for lunch.

The GSE lunch box is modeled after the train itself, super cute.

We also ordered the Taimeiken Katsu Sandwich.

Yum! ☺

& an hour and half later, we arrived at Hakone Yumoto station!! YAY

Now to find our way to our hotel.

Just across from the station there are shuttle busses taking travelers to hotel and ryokans around the area. You can check which bus to take as there are 3 different routes. Adult fare one way trip is 100yen, an affordable choice if you are taking public transit.

We are staying at Hakone no Mori Okada, part of Hotel Okada, thus Bus A Takidoori Line.

A short ride later...

We've arrived!!

our room!

Our dinner spread, doesn't this look amazing?!

When I booked the hotel, we decided to add a sashimi boat to our meal plan. Now that I think about it, definitely too much food haha!

Everytime I go to an onsen ryokan, I love to stay in a Japanese styled room. Their futons are superrr comfortable.

You cannot compare it to the typical western style hotel beds....

As always, if you are interested in the details of our experience at Hakone no Mori Okada, click here to read the full post ☺

Look forward to our 1 day Hakone trip in the next post! ♡♡
